“Thirty years ago we had no buildings, and when we saw buildings in other countries we used to envy them and wonder how we could convince our people to be satisfied with what they had”, said the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Fortunately, thanks to the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC), such concerns have long since vanished.
In 2008, we were appointed by the UPC to create and establish a brand identity that was complementary to the Abu Dhabi brand. Our services were subsequently retained and, since then, we have provided continuous strategic and tactical support, across projects including: the Plan Abu Dhabi 2030; the 3 master plans for Al Gharbia, Al Ain and Capital City; Cityscape design support; production of a quarterly magazine; the environmental branding for their office; and a multitude of corporate brochures and print collaterals.
Having worked alongside the UPC for 5 years, we can safely say that their vision for the urban development of the Emirate is second to none – and they can also advise us on the best part of town to live. This work has been done during my tenure at AAB.
